And it's inflammation. Inflammation is the body's way of protecting itself. Inflammation is the reason why we get symptoms. We don't have any symptoms without inflammation. So it's a part of the healing process, but the longer it's there, the more havoc it causes. It's the biggest driver behind things like joint pain, stiffness, fatigue, slow healing, arthritis, right? Arthritis, what does it mean? It means swelling of the joint. So we're right back to inflammation, swelling. But here's something most people don't realize. Some of the most powerful anti-inflammatory tools are not medications. That's right, they are foods. So today I want to share with you seven foods that naturally fight inflammation and help your body heal naturally. So number one, the first food we're going to talk about is berries. We're talking about blueberries, strawberries, raspberry. They're packed with antioxidants. You see, these compounds help neutralize oxidative stress, which is one of the main drivers of inflammation in the body. Even one small serving a day can help reduce inflammatory markers. Number two, the second food is fatty fish. So you have some choices here. Fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel, these are all rich in what's called omega-3 fatty acids. You see, when you eat processed foods, you're eating omega-6s. Those are bad. So we need to eat these fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to help reduce inflammation. You see, these omega-3s actually lower substances in your body that trigger the inflammatory response. The next up is olive oil, but specifically extra virgin olive oil. This is a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet that some of you may already be on. And it's one of the healthiest diets in the world. You know, olive oil contains compounds that act similar to natural anti-inflammatory agents. So replacing things like vegetable oil with olive oil can make a big difference. Replace all your seed oils with extra virgin olive oil. Another powerful group is the leafy green vegetables. So what's some examples of this? It'd be foods like spinach, kale, arugula, Swiss shard. You see, these vegetables contain vitamins and phytonutrients that support the body's natural healing process, and they also help reduce oxidative stress. The next one is turmeric. This is one of the most famous anti-inflammatory foods in the world. Turmeric contains a compound that has been studied excessively for its ability to reduce inflammation, and it's often used in traditional medicine and increasingly in modern nutrition. Well, the next category of foods, it's another great anti-inflammatory food, is nuts, especially almonds and walnuts. They provide healthy fats, antioxidants, and minerals that help regulate the inflammatory process in your body. Just a small handful can have benefits. And then finally, the top seven foods, I would say it would be green tea. Now I'm not talking about Lipton green tea or some of this processed green tea that you buy in the store, ocean spray, any of those. No, green tea. Green tea contains a powerful antioxidant which helps reduce inflammation and support cellular health. It's one of the healthiest beverages that you can drink. So go get some green tea pouches and brew your own tea. It's a lot cheaper and a lot healthier for you. So once again, if you're dealing with things like joint pain, stiffness, chronic inflammation, slow healing, one of the best places to start isn't about adding something to your life. It's to focus on what you're putting on your plate every day. And when you do these small changes in your diet, it can have a big, a huge impact on how your body heals and functions. Well, here at Campb Family Chiropractic, we're here to help people move better, to heal better, and to live healthier lives. Thanks for listening, everybody, and have an amazing week. God bless.
